Leadership Lessons That Stick 🎙️
This Friday, October 3rd, I’m dropping a new episode with Rick Hill (Head of US Sales for Neat). Rick’s been around the block leading sales teams, and the stories he shares flip a lot of the usual leadership “rules” on their head.
Here’s a taste of what stuck with me:
Do you want to be right or rich?
One of Rick’s early mentors told him,
“Rick, do you wanna be right or do you wanna be rich? You can choose one or the other, but you can’t choose both.”
That single line reshaped how he thought about decision-making and collaboration.
Humility matters.
Rick talks about the difference between leading with humility versus leading with ego. He saw firsthand how a controlling leader crushed team input, and how much more effective things became when he took the opposite approach.
The power of reflection.
Toward the end of the conversation, Rick drops this:
“Remember why you started.”
Simple. Direct. And the kind of line that makes you stop and think.
This episode isn’t theory, it’s lived experience. If you’re leading through growth, transformation, or just trying to build a team that actually works together, you’ll walk away with lessons you can use right away.
🎧 Episode goes live Friday, October 3rd.
Set a reminder, because this gives a real look into what leadership takes and it ain’t what you think!
